it's that time of the year when you eagerly wait for a thin rope to be tied on your hands by the most loving ladies of your age group and you call them Sister...but you don't want to give them gifts I mean material gifts...frankly I have never ever waited to gift them on this so-called rakshabandhan day...if I have wanted to gift them I do so irrespective of what day it is of the year...and when during this day they ask about gifts I tell them "remember I gifted you so and so on this date of the year".. :P :-)...thanks god rakhabandhan day comes once in a year otherwise my sisters would have kept asking me for gifts more than once in a year.. huh..!! :D :D...all these years, this day, when I was with them at home and probably the most naughty family member I used to tell my sisters "kya, kya hoga is patle dhage ke bandhane se...sab bekar hai.." they simply give me a smile on this by just asking "tu kya gift de raha hai mujhe?"..and my reply would be "jab kamaoonga tab de doonga, ek dhage ka gift maang rahe ho...sharm karo"...now it has been 7 years that I am living away from my home distant from my sisters and parents...the thing is that I don't miss the rope/dhaga that they used to tie on my hand but the conversations we had after the ceremony..they looking at me, my hand and smiling, repeatedly asking for gifts and asking for a bigger gift because I will be gifting them for roughly 16-17 years' of rakhi...more than that I miss being with them and playing with them, arguing with them, making different different faces to their arguments, giggling at them...life was unimaginably more funful at home with my sisters and parents....they looking at my teeth while I am sleeping and murmuring how yellow they are and laughing among themselves...failing to wake up after my mom's 10 calls they trying to wake me up by tickling me because they exactly know my weakness...at first not giving me my bhindi ki subzi mom has prepared and then when I start being angry/crying, they giving me their shares too...when I was 6 years old both of them tried to pull me towards their side by pulling my hands one for each..they were playing tug-of-war with me being the rope..and physically my elder sister is stronger than younger sister, so you could imagine who won but the thing is in her winning I played a major role, she pulled my arm so strong and sudden that I was with some fracture for a month or two...I felt the pain for a moment but then I was all happy as my mom's full attention was at me and also people were saying oh you take care don't study too much or write too much... :-)...
whatever..life's fun seems to be fading away...now that my niece has taken my role in family, being the youngest one, I enjoy a different kind of enjoyment...seeing her act in many different and weird ways keeps asking me the question.."why does childhood goes away?"...anyways tomorrow is rakshabandhan and I am all happy that I am going to tie the rakhi by myself 7th time successively...some relations are just too sweet and naive to forget about and maintain, whatever the situation may come...is bhai-behen ke relation ko kisi ki nazar na lage..!! Love you sisters, love you totally... keep :-) ...
